Greyfriars Tolbooth & Highland Kirk 200th anniversary service
The General Assembly Gaelic Service will be held at
Greyfriars Tolbooth & Highland Kirk
on
SUNDAY 20th MAY 2012 at 12.30pm
This Service will be conducted by The Reverend Kenneth Macdonald of Glasgow.
The Moderator of the General Assembly will attend and will give the Benediction at the end of the Service.
It is intended to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the death of the famous Gaelic Bard, Duncan Ban Macintyre (Donnchadh Bàn Mac an t-Saoir) at the end of this Service. The Bard is buried in the Cemetery at Greyfriars.
An Invitation to this Service is given to the whole congregation and to any members and adherents of any other Church/Congregation.
It is hoped that the Gaelic Congregation will bring friends and acquaintances, especially from the Gaelic world, primarily to worship but also to welcome our honoured guests and to put Gaelic Ministry and Worship "on the map ".
